Megan Lim practices in the firm’s Wills, Trusts & Estates practice group with a focus on estate planning, probate and trust litigation, conservatorship and guardianship proceedings, and trust and estate administration.

Megan has once again been named to the 2025 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America list in the practice areas of Trusts & Estates and Litigation-Trusts & Estates.

She is a graduate of the University of Washington, School of Law where she worked in the Children and Youth Advocacy Clinic and the Refugee and Immigrant Advocacy Project through the University of Washington Clinical Law Program. While in law school, Megan enrolled in a concurrent degree program and graduated from the Master in Public Administration program at the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs.

After graduation, Megan worked as a law clerk/bailiff to the Honorable Carol A. Schapira, King County (Seattle) Superior Court, and volunteered as a pro bono attorney with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project. Upon deciding to focus her legal practice in the area of estate planning, Megan returned to the law school for additional coursework related to estate planning in the graduate program in Taxation.

Megan grew up in Honolulu surrounded by a large extended family. The admiration that she has for her grandparents on both sides of her family is what originally sparked her interest in estate planning. During their lives, Megan experienced her grandparents graciously extend their vision, values, and love, toward their spouses, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the community. She feels planning can help to capture and sustain this kind of legacy.

Megan graduated from Punahou School and attended Claremont McKenna College where she graduated, magna cum laude with a BA in Government. During college, she was the student director of the ESL (English as a Second Language) Program which provided tutoring sessions for campus employees. Megan also spent a semester in Thailand through an international education exchange program.

Prior to joining Damon Key, Megan was an Associate in the Tax, Estate Planning, and Wealth Management practice group at a Honolulu law firm. She lives in Kailua with her husband Jeremy, and their three sons.
