Kelly Uwaine joined the firm an an Associate in 2012 and practices in the firm’s Immigration Practice Group. She received her law degree from the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School Of Law, where she served as a member and Associate Articles Editor of the Asian Pacific Law & Policy Journal.
During law school, she was a student board treasurer and community board member of the Advocates for Public Interest Law, a Chris Iijima Fellow at the Hawaii Immigrant Justice Center at Legal Aid, and a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. She also clerked with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Hawaii, the Executive Office for Immigration Review – Honolulu Immigration Court, and the Appellate Section of the USDOJ’s Office of Immigration Litigation in Washington, DC.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Kelly was a valedictorian graduate of Kalani High School and received a Regents Scholarship to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree, with honors, in Economics, and a minor in Music.
