Kelly Uwaine practices in all areas of Immigration Law, Business and Commercial Law, Real Estate, and Employment Law. She counsels foreign investors with navigating the process to start a business in Hawaii from entity formation to purchasing a business, to obtaining a work visa, and everything in between. She also assists clients with legal matters relating to family-based immigration, AAO and BIA appeals, non-immigration visas, and consular processing.

With a strong work ethic, Kelly offers personalized and prompt assistance to her clients. She has assisted many individuals in successfully obtaining their immigration status.

Kelly joined the firm as an Associate in 2012. She received her law degree from the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School Of Law, where she served as a member and Associate Articles Editor of the Asian Pacific Law & Policy Journal.

During law school, Kelly was a student board treasurer and community board member of the Advocates for Public Interest Law. She was a Chris Iijima Fellow at the Hawaii Immigrant Justice Center at Legal Aid, and a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. She also clerked in the offices of: United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Hawaii, the Executive Office for Immigration Review – Honolulu Immigration Court, and the Appellate Section of the USDOJ’s Office of Immigration Litigation in Washington, DC.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Kelly was a valedictorian graduate of Kalani High School and received a Regents Scholarship to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Economics and a minor in Music. Kelly currently lives in Kaimuki with her husband Clint and their dog Freddie.
