Upon graduating, Loren earned an Environmental Law Certificate, an area of interest kindled in part by her appreciation of and concern for Hawaii’s natural resources.

Born in Southern California, Loren moved to Hawaii with her family at the age of six, grew up in Palolo Valley, and attended public and private schools on Oahu before moving to Michigan in the ninth grade. While in high school, she sang in numerous choral ensembles, participated in regional and state choral competitions and traveled to Canada, England, France, and Wales to perform and record in cathedrals. She also played on the Varsity Singles Tennis team, was very active in church youth group, mission trips, and student council.
